Newton's second law

Statement

F⃗=ma⃗\vec{F} = m\vec{a} — F⃗\vec{F} is the net force on the object, mm its inertial mass, and a⃗\vec{a} its acceleration.

Why is it true?

Force does not cause velocity but a change in velocity; mass measures inertia — resistance to that change.

A body on an incline with pulling force and friction: vary m, F, angle and μ, watch acceleration a = ΣF/m respond instantly, with its v–t graph.
