Problem 2

An ideal transformer has NpN_p primary turns and NsN_s secondary turns; its primary is connected to an AC source of rms voltage VpV_p. The secondary feeds a pure resistor RLR_L with rms current IsI_s. Find secondary voltage, primary rms current, load power, and voltage ratio. Model each stage with the appropriate conservation law or equation of motion; quantities stated as constant remain fixed during that stage. (a) Establish the governing physical relation for each stage. (b) Determine the requested observables from the stated initial conditions and constraints. (c) Check signs, dimensions, and the physical limiting behavior of the results.
VsVp=NsNp\frac{V_s}{V_p}=\frac{N_s}{N_p}

In an ideal transformer, induced emf per turn is the same, so voltage is proportional to turns. This follows from the chosen physical model and the stated initial conditions; the sign convention must remain consistent throughout. A dimensional check catches algebraic errors before the result is interpreted.
